Olivia Replaces Amelia as Top Girls Name!

Olivia has replaced Amelia as the most popular girls name in England and Wales.

The Office for National Statistics has stated that Olivia has taken back the top spot it once laid claim to between 2008 and 2010!

In terms of lads names…

Oliver is STILL the most popular boys’ moniker across most of England and Wales, except for the North East region where Harry is the post popular, and in London and the West Midlands, where the most popular boys name is  Muhammad.

It’s not all bad news for our lovely Amelia’s though…

Although Olivia is top overall for girls, Amelia is STILL the most popular in Yorkshire and the Humber, the East Midlands, West Midlands and London! Not bad going!
