National Family Safety Week

This week is national family safety week led by ROSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents).

Terrifyingly, accidents are the largest cause of death in children and young people – every week, at least one child under the age of 5 is killed in an accident, and children from underprivileged backgrounds are at an even greater risk according to ROSPA.

What are ROSPA doing to tackle this?

ROSPA are working tirelessly to inform parents of how they can reduce the risks of accidents through offering advice, sharing good safety habits, and raising awareness on social media platforms.

ROSPA has been working during this week to send out their ‘Keeping Kids Safe‘ packs and spreading safety messages both through their representatives in person, or via their social media channels.

They need your help too! Anyone can get involved and there are many ways you can do so; family safety awareness days for your staff, child safety sessions for parents at local venues, or share their resources and tips on social media for everyone you know to see. Every little helps, and you could save lives.

Free Resources

You can download a free resource pack here! All ROSPA asks is that you share what you’re doing with them via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #FSW, or by emailing [email protected] so that they can see how their campaign is going!

Here’s an example of one of their free posters…
