Get ready to shout "For Real Life!" because the most anticipated addition to CBeebies Land is officially on its way.
Alton Towers Resort has pulled out all the stops to announce the opening date for the world’s first-ever Bluey-themed rollercoaster: Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies!*
Mark your calendars for March 28, 2026, when the Heeler family officially takes over the UK’s favorite family theme park. Whether you have a "Bluey-obsessed" toddler or you’re a parent who secretly enjoys the show just as much as the kids, this new attraction is set to be the highlight of the 2026 season.
A "Beany" Big Announcement
To celebrate the countdown to opening day, Alton Towers Resort unveiled a spectacular (and slightly eccentric) piece of art on the park’s iconic front lawns. In a tribute to one of the show’s most beloved episodes, a giant portrait of Bluey was created using 11,494 tins of baked beans.
The massive installation, measuring 20 by 15 meters, took a dedicated team 18 hours to complete. It depicts Bluey in her iconic "Janet" granny disguise, complete with her purple headscarf. Fans of the Emmy® award-winning series will remember the "Grannies" episode, where Bluey and Bingo dress up as Janet and Rita—two mischievous grannies who famously struggle with technology and have a hilarious habit of "slipping on beans."
This record-breaking bean portrait is the perfect way to signal the chaos and fun coming to CBeebies Land this March.

What is Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies?
Located in the heart of CBeebies Land at Alton Towers, this new attraction is a "junior coaster" specifically engineered for little adventurers. It’s designed to be the perfect "first coaster" experience, offering enough excitement to make kids feel like "big kids" without being too intimidating for younger riders.
The storyline of the ride follows Bluey and Bingo (as Janet and Rita) as they cause havoc in the Heeler's backyard. Riders will be whisked away on a colorful journey featuring:
-
Gentle Dips and Turns: Perfectly balanced for younger children.
-
Immersive Scenery: Travel through vibrant trees, flowers, and playful surprises straight out of the show.
-
The Interactive Queue: The fun starts before you even board! The queue features a recreation of Bluey’s House, offering plenty of "Easter eggs" for super-fans, interactive play activities to keep the kids occupied, and dedicated selfie spots.
The Ultimate Bluey Day Out at Alton Towers
The arrival of the ride is just one part of the Bluey takeover at Alton Towers Resort. To make the most of your visit to CBeebies Land, families can enjoy a full itinerary of "Bluey" magic:
-
Bluey Live Experience: Head over to Big Fun Show Time to see Bluey, Bingo, Mum, and Dad in a high-energy live show. It’s an interactive experience where kids can dance, play, and see their favorite characters come to life.
-
Meet and Greets: Don't miss the chance to get a photo with Bluey and Bingo—the perfect memento for the family scrapbook.
-
The Ultimate Sleepover: For the truly dedicated fans, the award-winning CBeebies Land Hotel offers the chance to stay in themed rooms. It’s the only place in the world where you can drift off to sleep in the world of Bluey and wake up just steps away from the theme park.
Plan Your Visit for March 28th 2026
With the opening date set for March 28, demand is expected to be incredibly high. Alton Towers Resort remains the premier destination for young families in the UK, and the addition of the world’s first Bluey coaster cements its status as a "must-visit" in 2026.
Whether you're coming for the day or staying for a short break, the "Grannies" are ready to welcome you to a world of imagination, giggles, and - hopefully - no actual slipping on beans!
