As parents, I’m sure most of us will agree that time is scarce, and every second counts!

That’s where Tesco Click+Collect* can be an absolute game-changer . Why waste time every single week on traipsing around the supermarket (especially if you will have bored and irritable children in tow) when it could be so much simpler?

With one click of a button, your groceries could be picked, bagged and stored for you, ready for collection on your way home from the school run, after-school clubs, or other exciting family activities.

What is Tesco Click+Collect & why is it so convenient?

Tesco Click+Collect is a service that allows you to order your groceries with a simple click of a button. You just book a convenient collection slot, and collect from your nearest collection point at a time that suits you and your family commitments! With 400 collection points across the UK, 2 hour collection slots 7 days a week, and same day collection sometimes available, it sounds ideal, right? It fits around you and your life, so that you can save time for more important things.

Wait, there’s even more to rave about!  Due to the pandemic, Tesco reintroduced plastic bags for online orders due to hygiene concerns, but you can now again opt for bagless delivery too as part of the Tesco initiative to reduce plastic consumption and help the environment. Bags will still be included for items such as red meat and certain household cleaning items, just to prevent messy accidents!

Why does our online parenting community LOVE Tesco Click+Collect?

We asked the mummies and daddies in our private Facebook community group why they love Tesco Click+Collect, and got some really superb feedback that we hope will help any of you mega busy, short-on-time mummies and daddies!

Georgie told us;

“I was able to choose my time slots for click and collect, it was very handy with a 5 year old and new born at the time.I also managed to save money as I didn’t have to go in Tesco and buy food I didn’t need.”

Mara let us know;

“I find visiting the supermarkets really stressful as my little one has a compromised immune system. It’s hard to know when I’ll be home for home delivery, so I know I can at least pick up a Click+Collect order in between errands, with my child safely in the car away from any risky germs. I love that it’s contactless.”

Alexandra commented;

“I use Tesco click and collect, I go for a slot after work on a Friday and collect from a Tesco Extra near my work- super simple, Covid safe and takes less than five minutes to collect and I love having my shop done and fridge stocked ready for the weekend.”

Over on our Instagram, we were told that ‘it’s easy, quicker, and no one wants to do a full shop with 2 kids!‘ – we can definitely agree with this one!

42% of our parenting community on Instagram use Tesco Click+Collect over other retailers and options, making it a hugely popular option. The only reason given for NOT using this service was that some mums enjoy going inside the shop and looking around, which can feel like a mini-holiday if you get to visit child-free for an hour… But do you REALLY want to spend your child-free time food shopping, instead of having coffee with friends, having a relaxing bath, reading a book in peace or hitting the gym?

It’s a no-brainer, really!

How can I use Tesco Click+Collect?

It’s so convenient! All you need to do is book your slot after logging in on the Tesco* website, and then put together your basket. You can save lists for convenience if you tend to order the same things weekly! Once done, you can carry on with your long to-do list without worrying about finding the time to go into the supermarket. All you’ll need to do is pull up at your booked Tesco Click+Collect point and a helpful member of staff will bring your shopping out to you.

You’ll be avoiding the stress of getting babies and children out of car seats and into prams, or navigating across busy car parks with wayward toddlers… all you’ll have to do is get out and load the groceries into your boot!

Our 6 top reasons to give Tesco Click+Collect a go…

  1. You are in complete control – no waiting at home for a delivery! Pick it up at a time that suits you.
  2. You don’t need to come into the store to collect your shopping – it’s put straight into the boot of your car!
  3. Going on a trip? You can arrange to collect your essentials from one of their 400 stores across the UK.
  4. Curb your overspending by sticking to a list and avoid being tempted by in-store offers on non-essentials.
  5. As long as you send them the information, someone else can collect your shopping for you – this is perfect if you don’t have a car or are unable to collect it yourself for an unforeseen reason.
  6. There is a £25 minimum spend to order online – this is lower than other competing supermarkets, so you can still use the service for small top-up shops too!

Our Verdict

Tesco Click+Collect is the way to go for families who are short on time! It’s an absolute game-changer, and I wouldn’t do my shopping any other way now. It stops me from overspending on things that I really don’t need, and means that I can plan my busy parenting life around this rather than having to make time to shop in-store, or be home for a delivery. It just makes so much sense, and like our other mummies have said, you have the control make it work for YOU.
