We Love Nutmeg Clothing!

Dressing your family to the nines without spending a fortune is so easy with Nutmeg!

Nutmeg have always been a reliable and quality clothing brand, delivering stylish designs for young and old family members, but we're more impressed than ever after spotting the latest Nutmeg autumn/winter collection in-store recently. If you're a UK shopper and on the lookout for quality, affordable clothing, look no further than Nutmeg!

What is Nutmeg clothing?

For those of you familiar with the supermarket 'Morrisons', Nutmeg may be a familiar brand.

Morrisons launched Nutmeg as their own fashion line 2013, with the onus being on value clothing at affordable prices. Most Nutmeg lines are found in a dedicated section of each Morrisons supermarket, but in July 2020, Nutmeg at Morrisons opened the first standalone Nutmeg store in Bolsover, offering a bigger range and selection than you'd find in the in-store Nutmeg section. We're so jealous of you folks in Bolsover!

Upon the release of the new Nutmeg brand, the Morrisons team shared some insight with the media within a press release, alongside the Live & Breathe team who drove the marketing campaign.

Tim Bettley, commercial director at Nutmeg at the time, commented: “We hope our customers love the collection as much as we have enjoyed creating it. Nutmeg is a family brand and has been built around four ideas: fresh, thoughtful, accessible and affordable. It takes a fresh approach to supermarket clothing, adding thoughtful, helpful details across the range to make family life that little bit easier.

Belinda Youngs, who was corporate brand and marketing director for Morrisons, says: “Nutmeg gives a fashion twist to Morrisons’ quality and value credentials. The clothing has been priced to suit customer budgets without compromising on quality and differentiation has been delivered through consistent thoughtful touches such as expandable waists, no scratchy labels and zippers for little fingers. We chose Live & Breathe to help launch Nutmeg in-stores because of its thoughtful approach and understanding of the practicalities of the in-store environment and how to secure cut-through for a launch of this kind.”

Stuart Mitchell, founder and owner of Live & Breathe, said “In these austere times, convenience and value for money remain a key priority for shoppers. Mums are adapting their behaviour and getting increasingly savvy with their weekly budgets. The aim of our campaign is to show shoppers that with Morrisons they are getting high-quality clothing at prices to suit their budget. Creative has been kept simple to deliver the brand message in a clear and concise way. ”

What sort of clothing is in the Nutmeg range?

Nutmeg have a really extensive clothing range for men, women and kids, ranging from socks and underwear, to casual clothing, pyjamas, office-suitable wear and much more. They often also do sandals and wellington boots for children, as well as coats, hats, and other accessories. The Nutmeg clothing collections tap into latest seasonal trends, but always focus on comfort - soft fabrics with a bit of 'give', soft stitching, and the length is always generous.

You'll see lots of traditional shades of blue and pink, pastels and cream, with an emphasis on warm and snuggly materials to keep your baby cosy and cute at a fraction of high street prices. The mums and dads in our online community rave about baby clothing at Nutmeg, and for a good reason!

Nutmeg have such a vast range of clothing, from newborn up until early teens, so you can dress the whole family for less. We spotted some fantastic autumn and winter styles for boys in our local Nutmeg section at Morrisons, and it seems that orange, khaki and demin are bang on trend at the moment. There's some gorgeous knitwear, jackets and so much more to choose from at Nutmeg.

Where can I buy Nutmeg clothing?

Nutmeg clothing is exclusive to Morrisons supermarkets, meaning that you can only buy it at Morrisons, with the exception of the standalone Nutmeg store in Bolsover. You can't buy Nutmeg clothing online, although you could for a brief period of time around 2020. There are, at the time of writing, 1276 Morrisons stores in the UK, with 1052 in England, 142 in Scotland, and 64 in Wales. Most stores do have a Nutmeg section, but there's no database showing which ones do not, so you may need to check with your own local Morrisons store if you're keen to checkout Nutmeg clothing,

Our verdict...

We're huge fans of Nutmeg clothing here at Bump, Baby & You, and our kids have been dressed in their lovely pieces since birth - their newborn and baby clothing is so affordable, which is important when they're growing so quickly as well as dealing with poonamis and stains that we can't fix. It's also SO convenient to be able to browse clothes during your weekly grocery shop, saving you time spent darting between different shops, and saving you money ultimately because Nutmeg clothing prices are some of the lowest we've seen and trust us, we love to shop so we're in the know!
