The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Elmer are both revered and loved story characters worldwide, so of course they made our favourite find list! How cute are these costumes?

There's no problem with using film characters as inspiration on World Book Day! You could get around it by saying that there are books that you can buy as part of the Disney merchandise, right? These two costumes are gorgeous and easy to recognise!

Why not dress your little genuis as the magical Matilda, one of our favourite Roald Dahl characters? Mary Poppins is also a great shout - we love the inclusion of her bag of magic tricks too!

For those children who like a character they can relate to - Dennis and Henry are natural choices. We can imagine mums and dads everywhere nodding in agreement as they read this! These costumes are great choices for the boisterous kids in your life this World Book Day.

Roald Dahl has had a lot of recognition with this collection at Tu at Sainsbury's! Fantastic Mr Fox is one of our favourite books, he's an underrated hero and it's great to see a costume dedicated to him. We also love this Willy Wonka costume, it's perfect for lovers of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Last but not least... we couldn't resist sharing these two costumes. The Gruffalo is another natural choice for our favourite finds list, as he's one of the most beloved characters in children's literature. The Stick Man is another popular character dreamt up by the brilliant Axel Scheffler, and we can see this costume being a hit.

Our Verdict...

For all your World Book Day costume needs, Sainsbury's has you covered in their Tu range. We were really impressed by the prices, and the quality too - these costumes won't come home in pieces! We hope that your children find the perfect costume to match their all-time favourite story characters, and that they have a lovely day celebrating literature.
