New Zealand speaker Trevor Mallard has won praise from parents everywhere for feeding a baby during a parliamentary debate!
Baby Tūtānekai Smith-Coffey, born to the MP Tamati Coffey and his husband Tim Smith, accompanied the MP to work when he became hungry and restless during a parliamentary debate – this is where the fabulous Trevor stepped in to assist and support daddy by feeding Tūtānekai!
Why do we think Trevor is so awesome? Well…
- He’s normalising male nurturing in such a public (and official) setting.
- He’s being supportive towards MP Tamati Coffey by taking the little one and feeding him – us parents really are in it together! What a good mate.
- He’s not afraid to put the needs of the baby first before the procedures of parliament. After all, a hungry baby waits for NO politician.
